The Top 100 of insurance in Africa


According to the ranking of the 100 best companies of insurance in Africa, has made public the Pan-African magazine Jeune Afrique, three Cameroonian companies are among the best of the continent.

It is, reveals Jeune Afrique, Allianz Cameroon, class 70th in the Top 100 of the African society of insurance and reinsurance (SAAR), pointing to the 84th place, and AXA Insurance (97th).

As in the banking sector (Top 200 of Africa Report), the leader in the sector of insurance in Africa is South Africa, which aligns 10 companies in this ranking, with seven companies occupy the first seven places.

According to Martin Fontcha, president of the Association of companies of Cameroon (ASAC), with a turnover estimated at 150 billion Cfa francs in 2012, Cameroon is the 2nd of the insurance market (behind the Ivory Coast) in the CIMA, which includes 15 countries in West Africa and the Centre.
